Reducing Horticultural Emissions

Ag Matters, funded by the 'Ministry for Primary Industries', and managed by the 'New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre', have great insights into improving on farm sustainability.

Their case study on Robin Oakley farms drills in to the importance of measuring emissions and 'knowing your number', as what gets measured gets managed. If your know where your emissions are coming from, you can start reducing your emissions, and reducing our impact on the environment..

Watch the video below for some inspiration on developing your sustainability plans. The Oakley farm has worked hard to build soil structure, increasing the use of cover crops, and improved the holding capacity of nitrogen and water in the soil. Through testing and analysing results they now understand their impact, and can explain what they are doing to reduce their impact on the environment.

At Myimprint we have experts ready to help you reduce your emissions, and a farm GHG calculator tool which has been assessed to meet the requirements of He Waka Eka Noa.
